An overview about the chemical element Ruthenium
A chemical element that is considered rare transition metal, very hard and brittle. It is silver gray in color and one of the platinum metals from group eight of the periodic table of element together with rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium, and platinum. It is used as hardener in alloys of platinum and palladium that even only small amounts of it can increase the hardness of platinum and palladium. The corrosion resistance of titanium is increased markedly by the addition of a small amount of ruthenium.
